This is the place for all your working 3rd-party downloads. Got a program that works that you'd love to share with us? Post a description and link here! Try to keep it clean from comments and clutter, however, as we'll try to make this purely a list of good programs.

[edit]...ok, apparently the above statement wasn't clear enough.

IF IT ISN'T A WORKING PROGRAM OR LINK, DON'T POST IT HERE. NO COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS. THANK YOU.

Garmin Mobile XT GPS

This file is the actual program and there is an included keygen for the passwords and step-by-step instructions:

http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=54c6636b4e3a39510ff0f65ef7ce5540

And you need to install the map program to get the maps. The North America map program can be found here (Download all 5 parts):

http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=998e4434431c02018a2aaa81beb014da
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=2136dccbbcb74d6899c2ef02545d480a
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=6f3f4d1a8d6d6367bd9b357d9c228b4b
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=0c28caaa7a91cc9c187449b82e48c7f2
http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=1c845f969946a7c78c3b07428f5cd689

To do this, I would recommend at LEAST a 2Gb memory card. The program and maps may take up to 1.5 Gigs if I recall correctly. Depends on which states/countries you select. A full list of maps can be found here, but you need to register on the Noeman forums to gain access to the files:

http://www.noeman.org/gsm/symbian-os-9-1-applications/64037-all-about-garmin-all-versions-all-maps-available-help.html

To make it not use data, you need to disable your Incite from being able to use MediaNet for internet browsing. To do this, go to:

Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Connections>Manage Existing Connections

-From here, add a new connection named "My Connection". For the number, put something that won't work. I just used "black.black". Select this connection. It will then try to connect to that connection instead of MediaNet for web browsing and aGPS. This will not affect your MMS.

*Note: It will still TRY to connect, so you will still see your icon change from the antenna icon to the "E" or "3G" depending on your area, but don't freak. Give it a second and it will turn right back to the antenna icon.

ALL CREDIT FOR THE ABOVE GO TO NOEMAN GSM FORUMS, EXCEPT FOR THE HOW-TO FILE. THAT ONE IS MINE.

T-GPS

T-GPS is an offline GPS Manager.  It does everything but maps. I don't use a data package at the moment so I wanted to be able to do more than see what satellites were around. This does it for me. It has many different views for your data, making it very useful for many different situations.

  • Plot routes.
  • Set coordinates to every contact
  • Speedometer
  • Compass
  • Driving Mode
  • Airplane Mode
  • Add GPS coordinates to a picture you take with the Camera  Grin
  • Make you an overall better spy

To configure it to work with the Incite GPS:
  • In the T-GPS program: Go to Tools > GPS > GPS Setup then check the box for Use GPS Api (WM5+)

To auto connect when you open the program:
  • In the T-GPS program: Go to Tools >  Options > TGPS Options  then check Auto Connect

Currently I'm running T-GPS 2.00 RC 7

The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP)
The Core Pocket Media Player can play so many different formats of video, audio and even images that it completely replaces the stock media player for me. I love it and aside from the lackluster GUI this program has been great. I haven't tried every file type yet, but every one I have tried works great.

The only problem I have run across is a few MP3 files that I can play on Foobar2000 on my desktop refuse to play on TCPMP and lock up. I just hit X and open TCPMP again and the other songs work fine, sometimes I have had to make sure the "bad" song was not selected in order for playback to function. I deleted the files and no more problems.

As of writing I'm running version 0.72RC1 on my Incite.

Here's the file association list:

  • PLS playlist (PLS)
  • MPEG4 (MP4, MOV, 3GP, M4A, M4B, K3G, MQV)
  • Musepack (MPC)
  • TIFF (TIF, TIFF)
  • PNG (PNG)
  • JPEG (JPG, JPEG)
  • Video (AVI, DIVX, GVI)
  • Matroska (MKV, MKA)
  • Ogg Vorbis (OGG, OGM)
  • NSV (NSV)
  • Windows Metafiles (ASX, WMX, WVX, WAX)
  • M3U Playlist (M3U)
  • ASF media (ASF)
  • GSM AMR-NB (AMR)
  • MPEG Video elementary stream (M1V, M4V)
  • Windows waveform (WAV, RMP)
  • GSM AMR-WB (AWB)
  • AC-3 Audio (AC3)
  • MPEG Audio (MP1, MP2, MP3, MPA)
  • AAC (AAC)
  • MPEG Movies (MPEG, MPG, MPV)
  • Flash Video
  • HTTP protocol
  • MMS protocol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380387

Here is the link to the codec pack.

http://rapidshare.de/files/41312435/WM6_Codec_Pack_for_TCPMP.zip.html

My one request to everyone is that if you download it, you upload it to a mirror and post the link here.  That way we never exceed rapidshare's 5 download limit for free users.

S2U2 - "slide to unlock 2" is a program that gives you a little slider to unlock the phone (better than that dumb gray screen).   It has lots of great customization options that you can put on the screen (I have mine showing battery level, new alerts, alarm, clock, and weather).  Find it at http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/S2U2-52386.shtml

Diamond TV - watch live tv on your phone.  Tons of channels.  Works great.  Enough said.  http://www.diamondtv.fr/

MoDaCo NoData
Handy little app that will not let you use data by turning off your MediaNet and other data transfers.

Pocket XPDF is an open source freeware pdf reader.  It is very simple in its design, and has a very small footprint on the device.  Unlike acrobat reader it loads the whole page at once rather than drawing only the portion you can see.  This can be both good (less loading while you are panning through the page) and bad (if you zoom to close it will run out of memory and revert to standard zoom.  I prefer pocketXPDF over all other pdf readers.

I haven't seen it mentioned here but there is an easy way to get group SMS on a WM phone.  Here is a link to the cab file:

http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=group_sms

It is an essential add-on for me.

Here is a handy little cab that hacks the 300kb MP3 ringtone limit and raises it to 25mb.  I wouldn't recommend a 25mb ringtone but at the least you can do 30 second ringtones without having to worry about the 300kb limit.

Also, I forgot to add the fix IE cab.  This will make IE your default browser again (for those that are interested in that Smiley ).

I just found another cool cab that I had once before and lost.  It basically resumes where you left off after closing WMP.  Here is a link to the XDA thread discussing it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412847

Here is another great program.  It's PIM Backup 2.8.  It allows you to backup/restore your phone data to a MicroSD card.  It's much faster and easier to than Sprite and it doesn't require a reboot to work.  It also has much more configurable options when restoring.  You can choose to replace all current data or only add missing data.  I just copied the executable to my MicroSD and run it from there.  This will also allow you to transfer to a different WM phone because it will restore to any WM device, not just the phone it was run on.

MOD EDIT:
This is a great program to use in addition to Sprite, not a replacement. It does not backup everything like Sprite, only data such as contacts, messages, call logs, appointments and tasks.

I've got a couple good keyboard/mouse programs.

Gremote
This lets you control your computer with your phone. You can even use the phone's keyboard to input text. However, it doesn't work so well with the G-sensor, and it doesn't recognize it for the mouse. Or the joystick, for that matter. If you can get either to work with the Incite tell me how. You need the .net compact framework 3.5 to use Gremote, it'll use windows device center installer (vista) (and probably activesync for XP, i don't know.) to install it.

Windows Device center for Vista:

.NET Compact Framework 3.5 SP1
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&DisplayLang=en

Gremote:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427097

PPC Connector
This lets you control your phone with your computer. So vice versa of Gremote. It even lets you use your mouse. It's pretty cool. Like Gremote, you need activesync on your computer, so use the link above for vista, or the included software with your incite for XP.
PPC Connector:
http://www.trancreative.com/rkb.aspx

P.S. If you can find a program that will let me skip the computer and just use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to control my Incite, let me know. I know I can use a keyboard, I'm just not going to buy one until they invent a program for the mouse too.

These both work on my Incite. I haven't tried using them both at the same time, it might cause a thermonuclear explosion. Control your phone with your computer with your phone with your computer... et cetera. I don't feel like creating a feedback loop.

Disclaimer: Installing any software can be detrimental to the health of your phone or computer. I've just listed what has worked for me. I don't take any responsibility for damage to your phone, computer, or toaster. DO NOT blame me if you mess up with this. Backup all files on your phone before updating the .NET framework. DO NOT use this software to subvert the US government, however any other government I don't really care about.

Here is a good media player, the best so far i think, mostly for mp3's and wma. Has alot of options, with a preamp and an alarm clock plus sleep timer. Its also skinnable, which is not that hard to do. Look at the skins section of the forums to find some screenshots. So far, it seems to work great on the Incite. I have no problems as of yet.
