Is there a hack/regedit to increase the ring & text message volumes?  So far the ring volume is the ONLY thing I don't like about this phone.  I practically can't hear it ring when it's in my pocket.

i'm not quite sure but i think there's one available somewhere .... again not sure.

but anyways, i've noticed that it also depends on the file you're using as a ringtone, after trying many of them, i can tell some sound louder than others.

for example, try this one i downloaded from the microsoft windows mobile website, i think is way louder than the ones that come with the phone, hope you like it.

Dammit!
I missed two important calls today because I didn't hear the phone ring.  I can't believe there isn't a hack out there or a program to raise the pre-amp of the ringer.  I mean, the Core media player I'm running can do it with my music.

Your mp3's must be set very low. Every ringtone I made or downloaded sounds loud, crisp, and clear.

Now that I think of it, they are set at 32kbps because of the Motorola software I made them with for my old phone. Angry  Do you think converting the existing files to say, 320kbps fix/help, or will I need to rip & edit them at a higher quality all over again (I really hope not)?  There still has to be a regedit or program to make things louder though.  My work enviroment can be very loud at times, so anything will help.

putting it in your pocket and make it vibrate and ring at the same time won't help?  that's what i do.  and i used to that also with my old v3xx when i used to work for a factory where noise was a common thing, very loud noise.

did you try that ringtone above? did you notice any difference? not asking if you like it or not, just if you can tell it is louder.

Well,
It is a little louder, but I re-did all my ringtones at 320kbps & they're basically just as loud as the one you posted.  This is driving me crazy, it's really my ONLY beef with the phone.  I've missed a lot of calls.  I actually had a V3xx before this phone too & I loved how loud the ringer & texts were.  But I also found a hack to increase the volume on that phone though.

When I said set low, I meant the audio gain not the bitrate.

How do you change the audio gain for the ringtones?  With TCPMP I can adjust the gain while listening to a song, but it doesn't give me a way to adjust the gain for when the phone rings.

Great software. I was using Goldwave to do this and it was taking forever because it has to be done one song at a time, and I have over 2300 mp3 files. Smiley

I was just thinking about this. But yeah, if you want loud stuff on your phone, you could use Audacity to increase the original volume of the audio and boost it. It was a tip I picked up from a friend of mine less than a week ago. I don't know if it works well, it did help boost the volume some though (We raised it by small increments, but you could raise it 100% I believe)

so far, i've been impressed with my incite and it's features, minus the heaps of bloatware and ms apps that i don't want and will never use.  it is a swiss army knife of digital portability. very impressed.
but the freaking sound on this thing is TERRIBLE. any music sounds bad through it whether through speaker or headphones. not only could someone have provided even basic equalizer or presets and didn't, the volume limit is set way to low in the whole system. ringtones, alerts, fm radio, wmp, pandora, etc. are all very limited for volume, even with earplug style headphones. i've tried "louder" ringtones, no luck. i think a little customizable change in the system audio control would be great but then i suppose the incite wasn't marketed as a dedicated multimedia unit. i havn't found anything third party to help, and so far srs wow  doesn't seem to be compatible.
