The font size kinda sucks right now. The PDA is awesome, but really, some of the windows mobile menus are made for pixies.

I saw the thread for the SBP shell. Will take a look at that soon.

Besides the shell, is there anything else inherent in the OS that I can change to make the menus/start programs finger friendly?

You might try ING font changer http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-ing-change-font.html. I originally posted that it didn't work, but you have to experiment with it. Just jot down the details of the default screen first in case you want to revert back.  Be sure and soft reset after changes.

You might also look at Quickmenu - details and screen shots here http://www.lg-incite.com/lg-incite-tutorials/large-start-menu-with-built-in-task-manager-through-quickmenu/.  I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good.

You can change the font size.

Start > Settings > System Tab > Screen > Text Size Tab.

That will change most of the text larger or smaller.

Thanks, Clear...  I did that already,  and maxed that out within the first five minutes of using the phone.

I'm going to try the ING change posted by smrtdb.   Hopefully it will change all sytem font sizes.

Right now the worst part of the fonts being so small is when you have an incoming call  and the name and number pops up.  It's barely readable especially if you are driving  or walking.

OK,

Soo... the ING worked like a charm. The incoming call pop-up is much easier to read, as well as the menu items in thinges like file explore and in the browsers.

Additioannaly, I came across this
iContact - Link removed by mod. Old version posted here, new version already linked in forum. See reply.

It's  iContact.   It changes  your contacts page so that it scrolls easily, and looks  like the the iPhone

By far this was the best improvement i'v seen for increasing the font on the contact page and at the same time, it's easeir to use due to the smooth scrolling.

The Incites DPI is set to 96.There is a program that will set the DPI to 128,making everything larger.Due to the fact that its on another web site that would require you to register,ill post it here.

WARNING:Might be buggy in some programs.I suggest installing all files so you can go back to 96DPI
(Credits go to the origional creator)

guys....how can i make my keyboard bigger so i dont have to use my pen......i did what the tutorial said but it didnt change it either way i held the phone.....thx alot

For those who don't want 3rd part apps, you can still change the menu and popup font size and type via CeRistryEditor or any other editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\BarFnt:Ht  1200
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\BarFnt:Nm  Arial
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\PopFnt:Ht  1200
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu\PopFnt:Nm  Arial
As you can see, I have mine set to 1200 and Arial.
