Hi, I'm new here and today i slipped into a pool with my phone in my swim trunks for about 3 seconds... i have a phone protective case so that kept it from getting water in the screen, but it got behind some parts of the battery. I removed the battery and SIM right away and then went in my house and blew most of the water out of it. My question is where is the water mark on this phone and what color should it be? If the phone doesn't work, then i want to see if i can get it replaced if the water mark didn't get wet. i can see a blue sticker behind the battery, is that it? any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Not sure where the watermark appears, but that blue dot is not it. That just lets you know that it is the Incite that was released after the recall.

remove the battery cover. at the bottom there is a little hole with what should be a white dot. if it ain't white, you ain't happy.

I think the watermark might be the tiny white dot on the bottom plastic part. In my experience with cell phones, they usually turn red if they get wet. When I called ATT to get a replacement they asked me to check some things to make sure there was no hardware damage and they asked me what color the dot was. I guess white was the right answer because they sent me a replacement.

*update*
Ok, today i got to turn it on and it would not turn on...so i got to plug it in and it worked fine. It appeared that the battery was just dead because it would run when it was plugged in and not when it was on battery power. I leave it plugged in for two hours come back to find it saying "charging with 0%" how is that? Is the battery toast or is it the phone? Thoughts? Battery was at 50% when it got wet.

Water does weird things to electronics. When I spilled water on my laptop, I could charge the battery and then use it while it was running on the battery, but as soon as i plugged in the power cord the computer would shut down and I wouldn't be able to start it up.

well, the new battery got here today and it worked, i'm glad it was only an $11 fix instead of $300!! The phone is showing no signs of any damage now I think I'm gonna go get insurance now for it so i don't have a scare like that again...

hmmm. The guy at the AT&T store told me that you have to get the insurance when u buy the phone, and that you can't add it later. So I bought it for my phone. I'm not sure if it's true, or if it was just a sales pitch. Hmm. I wonder if it's illegal to paint the dot white again. LOL

LOL Probably not illegal, but they might require that the phone be checked out before they let you get insurance.

Congrats on your phone. I would say you are VERY lucky. Water and electronics never mix. With my clumsiness, it's only a mater of time before I do something like that and I'll bet cha mine won't come out so good.
